Cuando estés restaurado con crines

y patas galopantes, las riendas oscilantes

tocarán nuestras cabezas mientras caminemos

desconsolados sin vos. 

         Que algo sea difícil debe ser una razón más

         para el entusiasmo desenfrenado. 

Estas tristezas inmensas, ¿fueron 

directo hacia vos? 

         Entusiasmo desenfrenado, dije, entusiasmo sin freno.

What is that static in the sizzling cord? / Soon you will go. / How is it being you? / Don´t you know yet? / I´m trying to tell you what I remember. / If I speak any louder I´ll die sooner than you think. / What is it to die but to let go of the pain / so it moves inside / the living who loved you? / I´ll get back to you on that. / When you are recomposed with mane / and galloping legs, the reins dangling down / will touch our heads as we walk / inconsolable without you. / That something is difficult must be one more / reason for unbridled enthusiasm. / These large sadnesess, have they gone / right through you? / Unbridled enthusiasm, I said, unbridled enthusiasm.

Note by the author (in a private conversation): "Gil Ott was my publisher who became terminally ill. When asked what he felt was important, he replied, "unbridled enthusiasm." His press was called Singing Horse".
